An amazing weekend of arts

There’s something for all artistic tastes this weekend.

All weekend the atmospheric Shelley Theatre hosts a myriad of incredible acts. On Friday, writer and performer Caroline Bergvall presents Drift, a hypnotic piece of sound and spoken word. On Saturday, local legends The Dodge Brothers return with their skiffle songmanship and silent film score. On Sunday, Slightly Fat Features cook up their Variety Soup – magic, acrobatics, laughs for all the family.

Classical music lovers can enjoy the intricate sounds of Fieri Consort at St Peter’s Church on Friday 3rd October – delicate and beautiful. On Saturday 4th October, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra launch their Autumn season with Piano Virtuoso at the Bournemouth Pavilion featuring BBC Young Musician of the Year, Martin James Bartlett.

On Saturday and Sunday, Pavilion Dance welcome back theatre company Fuel – the people behind last weekend’s amazing The Roof production. Fuel’s Fiction is performance in absolute darkness using incredible binaural sound. Has to be heard to be believed.
