RED by David Lloyd’s Mischief

Influenced by Dante’s Inferno, RED shows the classic characters Red, The Wolf and The Devil embarking on a journey of love, sacrifice and betrayal. David Lloyd’s Mischief Company lead the audience into the forest with intricate storytelling and dark humour, bold theatrical imagery and electrifying music. Be prepared – this is no fairytale!

RED has been commissioned by Pavilion Dance South West.

PDSW has been working with David Lloyd’s Mischief Company for the past two years, supporting the development of RED, and we are delighted to be presenting this world premiere in Bournemouth. It is a gritty, thrilling and very moving new production, from an exciting new company. Be prepared to cry, to laugh and to gasp at this new take on an old tale.” Sheila Creevey, Head of Performance

David Lloyd’s Mischief Company is a physical theatre company that was formed in 2014 by Artistic Director David Lloyd, Producer Helen Kumar and Dramaturge Natasha Metherell. They are Playtime supported artists with PDSW, and associate artists with the University of Cumbria, both of whom have supported the development of RED.

During the development of RED, Denise Poote, resident visual artist, created influenced drawings and paintings in house. Her character and scene setting illustrative work will be on exhibition from 11 September to 12 October.
