Tickets only available on the door after 11am on the 21st October.
Join the award-winning, critically acclaimed Big Fish Little Fish crew and headline DJ Chad Jackson (DMC World Champion / ex-Hacienda Resident) at a rave for families with children aged 0-8 years. With the BFLF rave one of the 2016 festival’s most popular ticketed events, be sure to secure yours early to avoid disappointment.
Designed as much for grown-ups as for children, the rave will be daft, social, anarchic and a whole load of fun for everyone together! Experience a dancefloor full of bubbles, club visuals, glitter cannons, huge balloons and a giant parachute dance, all to a soundtrack of proper club tunes.
Collaborate on a giant colouring mural, create at the play dough table, get a temporary tattoo and get creative at the crafting tables with The Creation Station. Play and relax in the baby chill-out area on mats with tents, tunnels and ball pool (for the littlest ravers).
Dressing up is encouraged – the theme is “Surf’s Up” – think beach wear, shorts ‘n’ shades, Hawaiian shirts.
Alongside our usual activities we also have the following for this party:
Hula hooping workshops with Jasmin from Steamship Circus. This will take place in the upstairs area.
Face Painting by Jordan – this is the only chargeable activity inside the party, and will be charged at £4 per face should you or your child want to take part.
The Parachute Dance will take place at about 3:10pm, so make sure you stick around and get involved with everyone under the giant parachute (parents and children).
Craft Area – The craft tables are at the side of the main room – come along and get crafty with Lisa from The Creation Station! Inside the main room you’ll also find the play-doh table and giant colouring mural (on the wall, you shouldn’t be able to miss it). At the end of the craft tables we’ll also be offering free transfer tattoos for any children that want them, with parental consent of course.
Main Play Area – the older children’s play area, with play tents and tunnels, is located in the upstairs room, where there is also a bar.
Baby Chill Area – situated away from the main dance floor in the front bar area is the baby chill space and is for the use of parents with pre-walking infants. There are seats to relax on, safety matting on the floor, as well as a play tent, tunnel and small ball pool for the young ones to enjoy.
Entrance: The venue is open only for our event. Entry is via the main entrance at the front of the building.
Please queue up and we’ll check you all in as quickly as possible. Please bring your ticket confirmation and show it at the door, where we’ll also be handing out free glowsticks.
Buggies: The buggy park for this event is near the front entrance, but space is limited at this venue. Please only bring buggies if absolutely necessary. Someone will be on hand to assist you in this area. Please ensure that if you have a folding buggy it should be stored folded. All buggies must be left in a buggy park and are left at owner’s risk. In the case that we need to relocate the buggy park outside, it would be advisable to bring a rain cover, just in case.
Food & Drink: There is a licensed bar and bar snacks will be available. Water will be available at the bar should you urgently need drinks for thirsty children. We’ll also have delicious free giveaways from Portlebay Popcorn, to be given out as you leave.
Baby Change: There are baby change facilities on the ground floor.
Safety: Please remember that you remain responsible for your children at all times. Inside the venue we ask that for the safety of all there is no running, no standing on furniture and no aggressive or rowdy behaviour.
Lost Children: The Lost Children meeting place is in the front bar area, and is clearly signed. If a child is lost they should find a steward who will accompany them to the Lost Children area and wait until a parent or carer arrives.
Stewards: Our stewards on the day will be easily identifiable, as they will all be wearing high visibility vests. If you have any problems please speak to a steward who should be able to help you, or direct you to Neil who will be Operations Manager on the day.
Travel: If you are coming by car, the nearest car park is Cotlands Road or approximately 4-5 mins walk away at Madeira Road. The train station is approximately 8 mins walk from the venue. There is a bus stop right outside the venue.
Sometimes we take photographs or video bits of the party and you should be aware that by entering you are giving your permission for us to use the images for BFLF and Arts By The Sea Festival publicity.
We can’t wait to bring you another great party, and hope you all have an excellent time this Saturday!
