“Beautifully revealing, unforgettably good.” Judith Mackrell, The Guardian
Witness This turns the spotlight on mental health in a moving and emotional portrayal of how loved ones cope when mental health problems take hold of someone close. Powerful and deeply personal, the piece tells the story of choreographer, Kevin Edward Turner, following his journey and struggle with bipolar disorder.
A new and brave choreography from Company Chameleon, this must-see piece features a rich mix of dance and movement styles performed by Kevin and three dancers. Athletic lifts, dynamic movements and moments of fragility and sensitivity, combine to create a view of mental health which you simply won’t forget. Touching, sad, funny and absurd, this is relevant and up-to-the-minute dance theatre.
One of the UK’s homegrown dance companies, Manchester-based Company Chameleon create inspiring and original productions, which tour the UK and the world. In 2015 they were nominated for Best Independent Company at the National Dance Awards.
Witness This has been commissioned by Without Walls, a consortium of leading UK outdoor arts festivals and organisations, collaborating to break new ground in the creation of extraordinary outdoor work in the UK.
