Guest: Natasha Player
Timo the meets changemaker, dancer, producer, arts manager and founder member of Umoja Arts Network. A performer for whom art is naturally a means to make connections between people and spaces, communities and places, Natasha’s work champions: “Seeing a reflection of oneself’.
Grounded in creative movement training, and feeling drawn to Ghanaan dance traditions in her formative practice, her experience growing up mixed race in Bournemouth and her wide global travels have fed her passions for exploration, boundary crossing, inclusivity and unpacking the human interest in “other”.
A participation champion with Pavillion Dance South West, connecting the Indian & Asian and African Caribbean Communities, locally, her engagement work helps to facilitate change, partly she says: “by helping people feel more connected to ethnically diverse communities”. And she took Timo on a walk of art along a path from her childhood to sense of home today.
