Arts by the Sea Festival launches ‘Arts by the Sea at Home’ Campaign
April 2nd
Helping to keep kids and parents entertained at home, Arts by the Sea Festival is encouraging families to get creative with a colouring competition using its official festival artwork.
Bournemouth’s annual arts and culture festival, Arts by the Sea, has launched a colouring competition to help keep kids entertained at home during school closures across the UK. Aspiring young artists can download a selection of colouring sheets based on the festival’s 2020 artwork, to print and colour at home, or upload and colour using a tablet. Once complete, the creative designs can be shared online using the hashtag, #ABTSatHome, and on 23rd April, Arts by the Sea will showcase the creative work of everyone who got involved in a dedicated gallery on its official website. Parents wishing to get their kids involved should visit www.artsbythesea.co.uk for more info.
‘Arts by the Sea At Home’ has launched to provide an excellent opportunity for families to interact and get creative with each other at home during the current global situation. The Festival Team at BCP Council hope this exercise will encourage social interactivity and enjoyment whilst promoting positive mental health during the uncertain times faced by our nation.
The Arts by the Sea 2020 artwork was designed by Santa Barbara-based illustrator, Daniel Sulzberg. His whimsical and colourful designs have been featured on a variety of projects including children’s books and album artwork, and on an assortment of products for Red Bull, Nike, Wise Potato Chips and more. While the full colour version of Dan’s commemorative artwork for Arts by the Sea’s 10th anniversary (25 – 27th Sept 2020) is yet to be revealed, the festival is teasing his artwork in black and white colouring sheet format for its Arts by the Sea at Home campaign.
The colouring in project is suitable for those aged 3-12-years old, although Arts by the Sea encourages parents and big brothers and sisters alike to join in and get creative. To get involved, download the colouring sheets from https://bit.ly/ABTSatHome, either print or upload to a tablet, and colour away!
Once coloured in, parents and guardians can upload the designs on their social channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #ABTSatHome and tagging @ArtsbytheSea. All uploads will be monitored before appearing in a special gallery on the Arts by the Sea website on 23rd April 2020.
This is a fantastic opportunity for all the family to work together and get creative, and above all to have fun in taking part.
