30 Years of Bournemouth Rave: A Tribute in Flyers
The Old Fire Station, Bournemouth
We are here to celebrate Bournemouth and it’s influence on club culture over the years. From the introduction of house music at the Soul Weekenders and specialised Chicago house nights to legendary nightclub events, free parties on the beach and huge raves that shaped generations, this town has always been a significant destination in clubland. This mural is a visual tribute to that journey, a collage of authentic flyers, posters, and artwork from raves, club nights, and underground events spanning the last 30+ years. Each piece tells a story: of nights that blurred into mornings, basslines that shook the coast, and a community united by rhythm. We are here to celebrate seminal venues and passionate local communities. We honour the promoters and DJs who brought the energy, and the ravers who brought the love. From the early acid house days and pioneer jungle and drum & bass events to the trance superclubs, underground techno and today’s eclectic scenes, Bournemouth has never stopped moving. This project is proudly brought to you by The Old Fire Station in association with Sam Blay. The mural will be displayed in Lansdowne on the old Christopher Creeke building from Friday 19th September until Sunday 5th October, and is open to all. This is more than nostalgia. This is a living, breathing part of our cultural DNA. This is a snapshot of Bournemouth’s rave legacy.
