Exciting New Volunteer Opportunities For Arts by the Sea Festival 2022
August 9th
Volunteering is a great way to meet people, gain new experience or just have fun. With this year’s theme of PLAY, it could be time for you to get out there, try new things and join our wonderful volunteer team to give something back to your community and enjoy yourself!
Volunteers are crucial to Arts by the Sea’s success and we’re lucky to have volunteers who come back year after year – but it’s great to see new faces too. Our regulars tell us that:
“I enjoyed being part of a team and giving something back to my community”,
“Being a volunteer is a great experience as the Arts by the Sea festival is really interesting”
“I loved interacting with people and interacting with the artists too”
This year we’re excited to offer even more volunteering opportunities than ever at several events throughout September and October:
- For the first time ever, we’re hosting a pop-up Arts by the Sea festival in Christchurch on Saturday 10th September, which will give residents a taster of our signature style and an exclusive teaser of the main festival activity.
- For the fourth year running we’re hosting an Arts by the Sea Party at the Henry Brown Centre in West Howe on Saturday 24th September – it’ll be a great opportunity to help bring creative activity to this community event.
- The main Arts by the Sea festival takes place in the centre of Bournemouth over the weekend of the 30th of September – 2nd October and invites everyone, from 9 months old to 90, to come and PLAY with our incredible selection of performances, installations, workshops and spectacles.
If you volunteer with us you could be working directly with an artist, helping our marketing team with photography and social media, engaging with a local community group, or just generally interacting with our audience on site, providing them with all the information they need to ensure they have a fantastic festival experience.
All our volunteer roles are on our website and the best way to find out more is to register through the links at Opportunities – Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival.
We ask that you give at least four hours of your time if you can, but we aim to accommodate everyone. We welcome volunteers with diverse needs and if you want to chat about access, or just what it’s like to volunteer at Arts by the Sea, please contact leigh.hayler@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
