The Arts by the Sea festival is Bournemouth’s annual celebration of art, culture, people and place; providing a visual feast of inspirational and engaging experiences over eight days in September/ October. Now a key highlight in Bournemouth’s calendar, we aim to showcase cultural talent, enhance a sense of community and help put Bournemouth on the map as a diverse and exciting place to live, work and visit.
Year on year, the festival continues to grow, we have seen our live audience increase from 90,000 in 2015 to 120,000 in 2018 and Facebook page likes from 5,400 in 2015 to 8,900 in 2018. 2018 will be our eighth year and we are delighted to have retained Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisation status, securing funding until 2021.
We’ll continue to deliver a spectacular and intriguing series of events in the years to come, based around our values of diversity, accessibility, talent development, relevance, participation and care for the environment. We aim to keep the festival’s events free wherever possible and provide opportunities for everyone to experience and be inspired by the arts.
The Arts by the Sea festival is funded by Arts Council England and Bournemouth Council. We work hard to make a little go a long way, but through sponsorship and strategic partnerships we could do so much more. We seek support towards specific elements of the festival or towards the event as a whole. If you would like to work with us on something in particular, just get in touch and we can develop a tailor-made opportunity to achieve your organisational goals and strategic objectives.
